Stuyt Dairy Farmstead Cheese Company LLC, was founded in December 2015 by Rick and Ansally Stuyt. Ansally was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to the United States in 1961. In 1965, Ansally's parents bought the dairy that she and Rick now own and operate. Rick grew up in the Netherlands, immigrating to the United States in 1985. While living in the Netherlands, he developed a passion for the cheesemaking process. Rick always wanted to have a small cheese operation, so he put his mind and hands together, building the small facility that is now their cheese plant.
Stuyt Dairy Cheese and Stuyt Dairy are located in Escalon, in California's Central Valley, a productive area of San Joaquin County. The city is surrounded on all sides by scenic agricultural land and open spaces, the perfect home for Stuyt business operations. Only a small percentage of the milk produced on the dairy is used to make an Artisanal Farmstead Raw Milk Gouda Style Cheese. Cheese is aged a minimum of 60 days, but usually the preferred 90 days, for the best flavor. Aside from the traditional regular Gouda, Stuyt Dairy Cheese also offers several flavors.
Meet the Cheesemakers
Rick Stuyt, Stuyt Dairy Farmstead Cheese head cheesemaker, grew up in the Netherlands. While there, he interned on several small dairies where he learned the process of cheesemaking and developed a deep passion for the dairy industry. In 1985, Rick emigrated to the United States. In 1993, he and his wife Ansally Stuyt went into a partnership to later purchase the dairy which they now own and operate. With 90 acres and approximately 500 Holstein cows, Rick and Ansally are proud to co-own not only the dairy, but also the cheese processing facility. As the years progressed, Rick became more proactive about pursuing his childhood dream of cheesemaking. What began as a small project, just making cheese for the family, developed into Stuyt Dairy Farmstead Cheese Company LLC in December 2015. Rick also relies heavily on their oldest daughter, Anastasia Stuyt, to help in the cheesemaking, and she is also responsible for quality control and is the lab technician.

Mild Gouda
This Mild Gouda embodies a rich, creamy, buttery flavor with a smooth texture. It melts well on a grilled cheese or raclettes and is the perfect addition for scalloped potatoes. The mild flavor also pairs with white wines, bold, richer red wine blends, or amber beer.

Garlic Herb Gouda
Garlic Herb Gouda offers a sharper flavor with a rich garlic profile. This cheese goes perfect in an omelet or quiche, or grated over french bread as a garlic butter spread. Red or white wine, paired with grapes or a pear compliment this flavor.

Cumin Gouda
